Harvey is a San Francisco-based company that builds generative AI software for legal and professional services work. Founded in 2022 by Winston Weinberg, a former securities and antitrust litigator, and Gabriel Pereyra, a former research scientist at Google DeepMind and Meta, the company (legally Counsel AI Corporation) develops an AI assistant that helps professionals with tasks such as legal research, document review, contract analysis, and drafting. Harvey is built on large language models and tailored to the workflows of law firms and corporate legal, tax, and compliance teams. Its customers include large law firms and enterprise legal departments across many countries. The company has raised over $1 billion from investors including Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Kleiner Perkins, GIC, and the OpenAI Startup Fund, and was valued at about $11 billion in 2026.
