Skild AI

Skild AI is an American robotics company founded in 2023 by Carnegie Mellon University researchers Deepak Pathak and Abhinav Gupta, with offices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Bengaluru, India. The company develops a general-purpose robotics foundation model it calls the Skild Brain, which is designed to be "omni-bodied"—able to control many different robot hardware platforms and perform a range of tasks with little or no hardware-specific retraining. Its approach draws on the founders' research in self-supervised learning, large-scale simulation, and learning from internet-scale video, and targets applications in unstructured real-world environments across manufacturing, logistics, and other settings. Skild AI has attracted significant venture funding from investors including SoftBank, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Coatue, Sequoia, and General Catalyst.
